"Customers did not get the product and were not that enthused. Bacon was sort of an afterthought," Pallis recalls. But when Lefkow suggested putting bacon first in the name, they agreed to give it a try—with excellent results. "People get bacon, and immediately saw the coolness of the product," Pallis says. "I was able to communicate its attributes better and customers had a better understanding of what it was."
