The shipping platform stays open until the last delivery truck arrives, which can be around 8 p.m. They even have restaurants and cafes that will place an order on the spot and wait for it to be ready for them. On a recent visit to the offices, not one of the 15 salespeople on staff were present, "which is how I like it," says George Jr.—who wants them out selling. Equipment Sales, Servicing and Training… Peerless sells and leases brewing equipment to buyers, such as Rancilio espresso machines, Curtis and Bunn digital brewing appliances, and singlecup options. The business even offers a 24/7 service hotline, and aims to fix anything within 24 hours. On one day, staff was in the midst of repairs on several espresso machines and other service people were on-site doing installations and repairs. The company also trains customers on the best way to prepare coffees and teas to ensure the cafe or restaurant knows how to replicate that perfect cup of espresso time and again. Museum and Tours… Sonja has turned a small area of the building into an exquisite museum focusing on the history of Peerless. Visitors will see a wide selection of items, including a vintage delivery truck and coffee grinders from around the world. Sonja likes to point out an old Peerless sign that promotes 20,000 pounds of coffee at 12, 15 and 18 cents a pound. With a laugh, she says there is no way (original owner) John Vukasin had that much coffee available, but it certainly made a statement.
