Adding chiles to old-fashioned
candy recipes, Hammond's is
reinventing its classic offerings
with a modern twist. Its Brittle
Crisps line, introduced in 2013,
added seven extensions last year,
including two spicy flavors: jala-
peño lime (with peanuts) and cay-
enne and cashew. Based on family recipes, each is packaged in 9-ounce
resealable bags. Recently joining Hammond's caramel corn line of
sweet and savory flavors is mango habanero, which balances the tradi-
