Summer Fancy Food Show Booth 5229 as a mad scientist in the culinary industry. The man loves to experiment with new ways of looking at food. I met him back in 2011, and we started asking why the world has all these major cultural institutions that look at art and science and so much more, but there is no equivalent institution looking at food. It seemed particularly odd to us considering that every aspect of human life is affected by what we eat. And so, the idea for MOFAD was born. The idea inspired you to leave your job as a lawyer to make MOFAD a reality. Tell us how that happened. I've had a longstanding interest in food, starting with learning to cook at a very young age. In college, I read Harold McGee's books on food and was fascinated. Later, I worked on hunger and poverty advocacy, so I saw a very specific side of how food affects lives. For some time, I lived in Cameroon, where I served as a Peace Corps volunteer and started a non-profit that paired arts educa- tion with public health education. A piece of that was nutrition. I later traveled through- out Africa, the Middle East, and Europe, and it was illuminating to see how food and drink serves as a bridge when all other forms of communication fail. Even while working as an attorney, I went to culinary school on the weekends. Though I was happy as an attorney, I always felt intrigued by the idea of making a career in food and food educa- tion. At first, it started with me just helping Dave on legal matters, but after a year, we realized he needed a lot more legal help, so I took the plunge. Exhibiting at the 2016 Summer Fancy Food Show?
