Previously only available as a leaf for steeping, the tea is now sold in an RTD bot- tle by Shaka Tea on Oahu, Maui, Kauai and Hawaii Island, and the company has signed a distribution deal for the Pacific Northwest. Co-owner Harrison Rice, says, "We're seeking to make this Hawaiian super leaf accessible to a much wider audience across the U.S. by building light, refreshing flavors that cus- tomers will reach for on the shelves even if they don't yet know about māmaki." Packed with metabolism-boosting catechins, chlorogenic acid supporting balanced energy, and anti-inflammatory rutin, māmaki also contains macro and micro minerals like potas- sium and iron.
