The company is the largest importer and manufacturer of gourmet truffle products in the country, but the award-winning Pistachio Cream is a testament to Sabatino's diverse line of high-quality Mediterranean goods. Introduced in January 2011, Fior di Pistacchio is a rich pistachio cream made exclusively with pistachios from Bronte, Sicily. "We make it in our own facility in Italy based on a recipe that has been around for hundreds of years," says marketing director Mylene Delattre. The recipe comes from Gabriel Balestra, based on his grandmother's original version. Whether spread on a croissant, drizzled on ice cream or used as a cannoli filling, the unique yet simple cream will leave an impression. Delattre encourages creativity. "Since the product is not too sweet, you can use it in so many ways. Truffle risotto with a spoonful of pistachio cream is amazing." Pistachio Cream is sold under Sabatino & Co., a retail division of Sabatino North America that features Mediterranean vinegars, pasta sauces, preserves and more. Since 2008, various products have taken home Gold and Silver sofi Awards, and Sabatino continues to innovate with creations like the soon-to-be-released Truffle Mac and Cheese.
